CQC Compliance
Ongoing compliance support to help registered providers meet the CQC Fundamental Standards, maintain inspection readiness, and evidence safe, effective, well-led care at all times — not just during inspections.
CQC compliance is not a single event — it is an ongoing commitment to meeting the Fundamental Standards across all aspects of your service. The CQC assesses providers against five key questions: Is the service Safe? Effective? Caring? Responsive? Well-led?
For independent healthcare providers, maintaining compliance requires up-to-date policies and procedures, documented clinical governance activity, trained and competent staff, and a culture of continuous improvement. The Compliance Clinic provides the structure, documentation, and expert guidance to make this manageable.
Our monthly clinical governance membership gives you access to policy update services, governance meeting templates, audit tools, and direct support from compliance specialists — everything you need to stay compliant between inspections.
Structured monthly governance meetings, agenda templates, minutes, and action tracking to evidence your Well-led domain for the CQC.
Annual review and update of all your CQC policies and SOPs to reflect changes in legislation, NICE guidance, and CQC regulatory updates.
Quarterly internal compliance audits against the CQC Fundamental Standards, with action plans and evidence documentation.
Pre-inspection mock audits, evidence file reviews, and staff briefing support to ensure you are ready for an unannounced CQC visit.
If your inspection identifies areas of non-compliance, we help you develop and implement a credible action plan to address the CQC's findings.
We monitor CQC regulatory updates, new guidance, and changes to the Fundamental Standards so your compliance framework stays current.
All registered providers must meet the CQC Fundamental Standards. These are the minimum requirements below which care must never fall. The Compliance Clinic helps you build and maintain evidence across all 13 standards:
Care and treatment must be appropriate, meet needs, and reflect preferences.
People must be treated with dignity and respect at all times.
Care and treatment must only be provided with consent.
Care and treatment must not cause avoidable harm or risk of harm.
People must not be subject to abuse, neglect, or improper treatment.
Systems and processes must assess, monitor, and improve quality and safety.
The CQC Fundamental Standards are the minimum standards of quality and safety that all registered providers must meet. They cover person-centred care, dignity and respect, consent, safety, safeguarding, food and drink, premises and equipment, complaints, good governance, staffing, fit and proper staff, duty of candour, and display of ratings.
CQC inspection frequency varies by service type and risk rating. High-risk or previously rated 'Requires Improvement' or 'Inadequate' services are inspected more frequently. All registered providers should maintain continuous compliance readiness rather than preparing only when an inspection is anticipated.
The CQC can issue requirement notices, warning notices, impose conditions on registration, suspend registration, or cancel registration entirely. The Compliance Clinic provides post-inspection action plan support to address any areas of non-compliance identified.
